Shark Log #3
Leaves littering your driveways, chilled air nipping at your nose, and by 6pm the world is enveloped in darkness. It's certainly that spooky time of the year, but it's also time for Shark Log #3.
Steam Delay
Let's get this one out of the way first, because it's rather short. I had started the process for Steam, and through that I had overestimated the amount of time it would take to put the game on steam. I don't want to rush it, so when it's ready I'll mention it. Until then, this is the update for the Steam demo.
The Meat and Potatoes
The first main story event has been written, and more of the classes have been as well. I'll let you in on a little secret between you and me. The windows closed? Are you sure. . .? OK, I'll trust you, so the secret is that there will be five subjects in the game. What they are, that I can't say yet.
Boys Boys Boys
As for the boys, Theo's route has been finished(he just needs to have a once over), this is also why he is the thumbnail for today's Shark Log.
As for Warren, his outline has been completed, and I'll start putting pen to paper once I have finished more of the art assets. Mainly the BGs, since I have a huge backlog of them, speaking of which. . .
Figure to Ground
So let's start off with the pretty one first. I didn't just start it though, I finished it. I didn't make the beach look like the main menu. I felt like having a bunch of rocks would detract from the picture, so I opted for something more scenic.
While in the process of making the beach, I went back to fix Shark Girl's bedroom. The angle might not be the final angle(still messing with that) but I changed up her room. Some more bumps around the walls, adjusted the posters, and raised the blue on the walls. You can also see some of the glitches which I normally edit out in Clip Studio Paint, like that window.
I see you. . .
Another change is if you look at the textboxes, they are slightly transparent now. I made a picture of Sharktober over on Twitter. For one of the prompts, I made the textbox slightly transparent, and people liked the change. So now all the GUIs are like this and you can confirm all those BURNING questions you had. But understandably, you were either shy or felt the time just wasn't right. But here I stand and can proudly say "YES, Shark girl does have legs".
Going Forward
Are current goals for ourselves towards the next 15th are to. . .
- Work on three new NPC sprites
- Work on next BG 🎰
- Finish Outline for Wess
- Keep working on Steam Demo release
- Polish Geil and Theo scenes
- Do some "spring cleaning" on the game
- Other main story events
- And some more random class scenes
And with that see you next 15th
Same shark log
Same shark date
